LeighAnne Boyd began writing her first novel “Once Upon a Time In The Bricks” in the late summer of 2000. With no computer at home, or enough money to purchase one, she managed to make it to the East Orange Public Library everyday to add a paragraph or two to her story. LeighAnne was discouraged by the financial situation she was in, and decided to put her dreams to the side for a few years.In the winter of Jan. 2004, Mrs. Boyd began the first day of her “new beginning” in Chicago, Illinois at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center(NTC). For four strenuous months, LeighAnne attended bootcamp with the intentions on becoming an Electrical Technician in the United States Navy. Upon completion of her four month battle, she attended schooling, and then ventured of into the fleet.While back and forth out to sea, LeighAnne Boyd would often daydream of making it big in the literary industry. This time she had no excuse. The USS Harry S. Truman was out to sea for a full five months before LeighAnne decided to get back on a computer and try her luck again. Within three and a half weeks, her story was complete. LeighAnne Boyd would stay on the computer for hours at a time until she finished her last sentence.So today, “Once Upon A Time In the Bricks” is a completed 270 page book, published by Iesha Brown of Outta Da Blue Publishing. She’s sold copies of her work on Barnes and Noble.com, Amazon.com, Lulu.com, Myspace.com as well as many other online websites. She has done various interviews with magazines such as No Labelz Magazine, The Flagship, Urban Essence.com and is awaiting a review from F.E.D.S. magazine . Mrs. Boyd also conducts interviews with other writers on her own website, Newjeruproductions.com.“Once Upon a Time In The Bricks” is LeighAnne Boyd’s debut novel, and she is in the midst of completing her sophomore novel, “Ugly Men Cheat Too”.

True To The Game 2 by Teri Woods
February 26, 2008I finally finished True To The Game 2. I don’t think it is a bad book like some say. It isn’t messing with the first one at all, but it wasn’t a bad read in my eyes. I guess a lot of people are giving Teri Woods bad publicity because of her so- called ruthless ways in the industry. As you know…Rumor has it that none of these books actually belong to the author/publisher, and sources say that Teri Woods is a fake!!!??? But back to the book…Gena seemed to be even more naive in this novel. The first True To The Game, she fell for Quadir so hard that she put up with the cheating, lying and double life just to be his wife…Now, she is doing it all with Jerell…Quadir’s rival! Of course Gena didn’t know who he was and that left room for her to be played once again, by a hustler. Jerell is a very angry person…lol…he seems to be killing all of his Junior Mafia brothers over money that was owed to him once he was released from prison…and just like any other young brother making money, with a friend behind bars…They figure they can tap into his stash and replace it when or by the time he gets home…WRONG MOVE!!! It’s funny though…this sequel reminds me of what’s going on in my favorite HBO series…THE WIRE???!!! The feds and cops are grimy…THE WIRE…They are doing whatever they can to get the bad guys…THE WIRE…the bad guys are killing each other off over territory and money…THE WIRE…if you are obsessed with THE WIRE as much as I am, then you will see the similarities…Oh and at the end of the book…guess who’s back? No need to say more…The writing was good to me, the grammar and spelling was on point…the story line was up and down, but overall, I thought it was good…once again, not as good as the original though…My favorite of all times!!! I don’t care too much about what’s going on with Mrs. Woods…none of my B.I., but I like the book, and I’m not sure who I should be supporting anymore…so until I get this figured out…Like the rest of you…I will shy away from the bookstores for now…Until then…

February 26, 2008I’m late…I know, but I have On- Demand, so I can catch up whenever I feel. Flavor of Love 3 episode 3? 2?…I forgot, but this one wasn’t as funny as usual..Ice’s @$$ is gone because she just can’t stop talking about her career. I give it to her though…she made it more than one elimination to get her point across…Point taken! You are on the radio…you will get more club appearances and air time….kudos! Rayna ws the prettier one on the show and she got kicked off…she did make a point though…the drunk chick with the big forehead and thin hair got to stay, and she has been nothing but ignorant since she started…I do remember someone saying that the show was B.S….they need drama for ratings, so half of this isn’t real…so now all of the interesting chicks are gone, which still leaves the girl Shy and the twins…I’m sure they will turn this show upside down…Remember when Ice said, “I love black men, but Flav isn’t that attractive…”? LOL…She said it…not me! So with that being said…you can listen to Ice if you are in the Detroit area @ 93.1 WDRQ-FM….
$$$270 Million Dollar Mega Millions Won??? Why Not Me…
February 25, 2008Well, it seems that once again, some old couple from the south won…yet another lottery. Robert and Tanya Harris of Georgia ( somewhere close to Savannah) picked all five numbers plus the Mega Ball number in Friday night’s drawing…Damn!!! Do you know how long I’ve been waiting to win that???? It’s a real bummer that young people never seem to win this game. Don’t you think WE would be able to enjoy it longer? I know you guys saw the THS special about the “Lottery Curse” where former crackheads, grandmothers, felons and such just so happen to “GET LUCKY” and win hundreds of millions of dollars. They spend, spend, spend, buy lavish items they never knew existed or how to pronounce… “Can I get two of those Ver- Say- Se (Versace) dress please? ” And then their homes are taken by the state as a foreclosure, cars repossessed, spouses divorce them, some overdose, get robbed and so on and so on, leading to a sudden death. Well give me a chance dammit!!! I will help some homeless people and single mothers turn their lives around, and get my publishing company started…I already wear Bulgari and Versace, so I won’t over indulge in the goodies….
Salt & Pepa’s Here!!!! The ladies are back on VH1…
February 20, 2008You can’t say anything bad about Salt & Pepa…They are icons in the music industry. Salt grew to become a god-fearing mother and wife, while pep is a mother as well…with a lil’ spice. I love watching this show because the two collide and mesh at the same time. At one point they separated because their lives were moving in different directions, and now they are back trying to mend a semi- torn relationship. The next episode will be at a retreat for the duo to reconcile…I love positive reality!!! Pepa makes it interesting with her spontaneous personality, and Salt bring a calm after the storm. I love them both!!! Keep it up ladies!!!
Flavor Flav makes his first elimination…
February 20, 2008The show has been quite entertaining for the first two episodes. Shy is still trying to get camera time, but now Rayna, Sinceer, and Thing 1 & Thing 2 have stole the show. I can see violence will erupt very soon. Sheryl Lee Ralph guest appeared on Monday’s episode to inspire and motivate these young females. Everyone except the alcoholic seemed to be moved by her presence. For an alcoholic she sure is funny, but I can read between the lines. She really isn’t like that at all. She just wants to do what Hoopz, delishis and New York have done…acheived some sort of fame in the reality show game…lol…So Flav had a lil’ problem with these girls not remebering the correct spelling of his name, and then he turns around to forget one girl’s name completely!!! Hmmm…anyways, the girl with the enormous butt, St. Louis and some other chick…I think El, I forgot…were eliminated last night. Sorry fellas…that will be the last time you see a backside bigger than Buffie, Buffy (however you spell it) grace the presence of television…or will it????? Make sure you look on YouTube for Shortee…The ugly Hispanic chick that was booted off on day 1…She must be upset…so I heard!!!!
Attitudes and Being Rude…Stop the ignorance!

I know that I am a very opinionated person, but I don’t believe that I am rude. I love being nice to people and I want the same in return…So why is it that people like to be mean? This is a question that goes un-answered simply because there are too many unjust reasons why? I just think people use their past as an excuse to act like jerks…So here are some tips on making your day go by smoothly…Jerk-Free!1. Always keep a smile on your face…A jerk is allergic to people with expressions! 2. Give compliments… It can slow a jerk down and confuse them. They aren’t sure if they should be ignorant, so they say nothing at all. 3. Ignore ignorance… If you don’t answer people when they are asking stupid questions or taunting you, they just tend to eventually…Shut Up. Those are just a few tips for now, so have a great day!
